The Weaving Technique:
The classic handloom weaving method used to join contrasting borders and pallu is known as the traditional Korvai technique. Two skilled weavers sit at opposite ends of the loom, manually throwing the shuttles back and forth to interlock the aqua green body with the rich pink border. Because every peacock motif is individually hand-woven and the Korvai joint requires double the manual labor, a genuine handloom Korvai silk saree takes 10 to 15 days to complete, making it far more valuable and durable than a simple machine-made saree.
